Chef Jared A. Hucks was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, enjoying the tradition of southern comfort food and exploring the many facets of ethnic cuisines. Growing up in a creative family of artists, food became his artistic medium. Having traveled and worked on five continents, Jared brings a wealth of worldly experience to his culinary art.
His career has taken him to work in some of the finest and most renowned restaurants in the world. Just to name a few, the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa in Vail, CO.; Guillaume at Bennelong at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia; The Baan Rim Pa restaurant group in Phuket, Thailand; Arzak Restaurant in San Sebastian, Spain; Captain’s Galley in Scrabster, Scotland; Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark; Bacchanalia in Atlanta, Ga.
The Atlanta native returned to Georgia in 2013 after almost 2 decades to create The Alden and nurture his hometown community in his own restaurant. Jared’s experience in the restaurant industry comes to fruition as he pushes the envelope to define his own style in creating a memorable dining experience at The Alden.
